Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train started on its very special tour Shri Jagannath Yatra with 528 tourists, covering some of the very prominent pilgrimage and heritage destinations of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa.
Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, along with Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & Information Technology, and Sh. G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of the North Eastern Region, flagged off the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, or “Shri Jagannath Yatra,” today at Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station to begin its auspicious journey.
Senior executives from other ministries, the IRCTC, the chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, Sh. Anil Kuma Lahoti, the secretary of tourism, Sh. Mr. Arvind Singh, and others attended the event. The train is being operated by IRCTC Ltd, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways.
Speaking at the event, Shri Pradhan stated that the train carries out the goal of the Prime Minister to make it possible for regular folks to travel inside the nation, particularly to pilgrimage places. He said that the guests had access to top-notch amenities, such as lodging, dining, and local transportation. He said that such projects will not only provide people the chance to learn about the rich cultural legacy of India but also create a lot of jobs.
Shri Vaishnaw wished the pilgrims a safe and joyful journey and mentioned that eight of these pilgrim circuits have already started operating, offering the devotees a chance to experience Indian culture. He said that there are a lot of tourism spots in India, and the Prime Minister has been instructing his Ministry to make them accessible, offer the necessary amenities, and provide accurate information so that people may take full use of them.
According to Shri Reddy, many of Indians wish to visit sacred sites but are unable to do so since they are neither convenient or affordable. He said that the plan announced today, which falls on both Tourism Day and Voters’ Day, will significantly boost domestic travel, especially among the general populace of the nation.
The eight-day excursion, which will take travellers to Puri’s Jagannath Temple, one of India’s Char Dhams, began with the departure of the train. The tour’s other attractions include stops in Varanasi, Baidyanath Dham, Konark, and Gaya.
The first stop on the 8-day Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Tour is the historic holy city of Varanasi, where visitors may explore the Kashi Vishwanath temple and Corridor as well as the Ganga ghat.
The train will depart from Varanasi and go to Jashidih Railway Station in Jharkhand, where passengers would travel to the Baidyanath dham Jyotirling Temple. A second train will depart from Jashidih and go to Puri, where they will spend the next two nights in hotels.
Visitors to Puri will stop at the Jagannath Temple, Golden Puri Beach, Konark Sun Temple, and the temples of Bhubaneshwar. Gaya would be the final location on the itinerary where the visit to the Vishnupad temple is included after Puri. The train will return to Delhi on February 1st, 2023.
The tourist train offers opportunities to board/deboard in Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur, and Lucknow stations during the journey, along with a contemporary state-of-the-art AC rake.
The well-equipped, contemporary pantry vehicle on board will serve guests freshly prepared vegetarian meals. Additionally, the train is equipped with an infotainment system for both public address announcements and passenger enjoyment. Additionally, each bus has received improved security measures including CCTV Cameras and Security Guards.
Cost of Bharat Gaurav Tourism Train
The opening of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is in keeping with the “Dekho Apna Desh” strategy of the Indian government to promote domestic travel. The tourist train will be an all-inclusive trip package with prices starting with Rs. 17,655/- per person, encompassing train travel in Third AC, overnight hotel stays, all meals (VEG ONLY), all transport and sightseeing in buses, travel insurance, and guide services, among other things.
