The star-studded Opening Ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai will be beamed live to over 430 places across the UAE, allowing anyone to take part in the mind-blowing extravaganza no matter where they are.
The first full day of the Expo will be marked by three stunning fireworks displays in Dubai, symbolizing the journey from winning the bid in 2013 to opening the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia area, and the greatest global event held since the start of the epidemic.
Opening Ceremony viewing parties will be held across the country on Thursday, September 30th, thanking the nation for its support and urging everyone to come together to enjoy this historic occasion for Dubai, the UAE, and the region as a whole.
Screens will be set up in a variety of locations, including airports, retail malls, hotels, and other landmarks, to broadcast the great music and cultural acts live.
From 1930 GST onwards, viewers from all over the world can join the evening’s festivities via a global live stream, which will be available on www.virtualexpo.world and Expo TV.
World-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, Grammy-nominated actress, singer, and songwriter Andra Day, platinum-selling British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding, international megastar pianist Lang Lang, and four-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo are among those set to perform.
The spectacular fireworks displays will take place on Friday, October 1st, starting at 2020 GMT, in Dubai Festival City, The Frame, and The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah, with each location hosting its own celebrations.
The Pointe and Dubai Festival City will both merge their fountains into a spectacular light and sound performance based on Expo 2020, while The Frame’s façade will be lit up in Expo colors. At each, flags of participating countries will be displayed, along with booths for purchasing Expo 2020 tickets on the ground.
Emaar’s Rove, Armani, Address Hotels & Resorts, and Vida Hotels & Resorts, as well as Accor, Marriot, Hilton, IHG, Rotana, Jumeirah, Hyatt International, and Atlantis The Palm, are among the more than 240 hotels nationwide that will stream the Opening Ceremony.
In addition, the experience will be streamed at 17 Majid Al Futtaim malls, including City Walk, Nakheel Mall, and Ibn Battuta Mall, as well as 50 Jashanmal sites around Dubai and Abu Dhabi, 97 Mediclinics, Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airports, Zabeel Ladies Club, and Sharaf DG.

A live broadcast will also be carried from Ajman Heritage District and Fujairah Fort, with the latter being followed by an evening of various celebrations including a little village, folklore bands, traditional crafts, heritage displays, and traditional food..
